Hope everyone had a refreshing and re-energizing holiday season!  2012 will be a busy year for TXCBC with active participation in local and national issues that affect our beaches.  We will continue ongoing programs such as the ones listed below as well as will be adding new activities during the course of the year.

We kick off the year in style with a great presentation on Packery Channel and the sand movement in and around the channel.  Deidre Williams from the Conrad Blutcher Institute at TAMUCC will present her findings in a slide show titled "Trends, Surprises, and Pre-Dredge Status at Packery Channel: Fall 2011".  

The presentation is part of our presentation series that we host as part of our regular monthly Chapter meetings.  The meeting takes place Monday January 30, 2012, in room 1003 of the NRC building on the TAMUC campus.  The meeting starts at 6 PM with a discussion of chapter business.  The presentation starts at 7 PM.  See you all there!

• Advocate for a plastic bag ordinance for Corpus Christi (as part of our skip the plastic campaign
• Beach cleanups
• Storm drain stenciling
• Surf camps including a new surf camp for wounded veterans
• Working with the City of Corpus Christi on all beach matters including a healthy beach maintenance plan
• School presentations on Surfrider Foundation issues
• and lots more!
